Sergio Rubio, from the University of Extremadura (Spain), has been seconded to the Sheffield City Council (SCC), during the months of June and July, in order to develop some activities related to different SCC areas of interest on sustainable urban freight transport.

In a close collaboration with SEERC secondees, three main activities have been carried out:

1) define of a set of urban freight indicators based on different criteria or categories: economic, environmental and social;

2) waste management and smart systems, in order to deal with some issues such as waste reduction, the use of technology for waste collection, stakeholders’ engagement, and student areas; and

3) mitigation of delivery and parking truck issues. These activities have been carried out as a part of the WP2. Decision Support for Urban Freight Transport.
