Following Dr Genovese’s first secondment at Softeco Sismat, Andrea Serena, from The University of Sheffield Management School, is now in Genoa to work alongside Marco Gorini, Marco Boero and Alessandro Barisoni (from the company team) on the software tools offered by the firm in order to manage direct and reverse logistics in urban areas. Andrea’s work will aim to identify areas of potential improvements (based on the state-of- the-art in the literature), and evaluate possible additions to Softeco Sismat current software offering. During his three-month visit, he will also continue the dialogue with Local Authorities and Trade Associations in order to understand their needs in the usage of decision support tools.
