Anna Melchiori, from the National Research Council of Italy (CNR), is currently visiting Sheffield City Council for undertaking joint work in the field of Sustainable Freight Transport planning. Anna’s work is mainly concerned with WP2 of the project; specifically, Anna is looking at ways in which the City Council could optimise the performance of its waste management systems, that are responsible for a large proportion of the environmental impact related to freight transport in the area of Sheffield.
Anna’s secondment, originally planned for the start of 2018, had an early start in May. “Given the enthusiasm of Sheffield City Council, and its willingness to start to collaborate, we have decided to kick-off our activities much earlier”, said Dr. Antonino Sgalambro (CNR) who is supervising Anna along with Alastair Black from Sheffield City Council.
This is the first of a series of secondments that will be hosted by Sheffield City Council within the ProSFeT framework.
